- Every week on the way to church we see several baristas at their little stands selling coffee. I had never heard the word before I moved to Seattle, but it is pretty much synonymous with Starbucks and their fooffy overpriced coffee drinks with which the whole nation seems to be addicted. However, these type of coffee stands are so popular in Ukraine even without offerring an Americano Tall Non-Fat Whipped Caramel Latte. So, if you start seeing babushkas on the corner of your city streets, you will know I succeeded in convincing them here to franchise out to more lucrative markets. Look out Starbucks, the Babushka Baristas are on their way.
That’s a woman?
