- We had a great fireworks show from our balcony again this year! They started about midnight and continued for several hours into the morning. The main event kicked off at 2:00am, which seemed to be the actual organized show. Leading up to this main event, random people are just setting off fireworks wherever they can find a "free" spot (which includes our parking lot and even from apartment windows). They only difference from the organized show and the random pre events is simply the amount shot off at one time. No laws on purchasing or type or use. You get the point. Even the sparklers we bought seem to be industrial grade. No way we would let the girls get near these things! I still have some remnants of little burns on my arms from the flying sparks and I suspect that they may even be a nice substitute to a welding torch. Happy New Year!!
I was so hoping for fireworks pictres again this year! Thanks Darryl and Happy 2009 to all of you.
Much, much better than my pic. Of course, I wasn’t really planning on taking fireworks pics, but there you have it. I’m sorry that you didn’t get a tax break this year
Good luck over the next few weeks. Laura’s ready for it to all be over as well…
Update on the sparklers. We were on the metro yesterday and a little girl was holding the largest sparkler in the world! It was at least 2 feet long and about 1/2 inch thick! I love Ukraine.
