- This is my bank in Ukraine - OTP Bank. Sometime last summer I tried to withdraw $100 and was not allowed because I was "missing" some stamp in my passport. It took 90 minutes of very frustrating discussion, a call to my admin department at KPMG, the teller, another teller, the manager, the branch manager, but no money until they finally called their attorney for consultation and discovered this "missing" stamp had been discontinued fom use more than 5 years ago. In December I was told there was a limit on how much I could transfer out of Ukraine into my US account. An amount much less than I needed to transfer. A few weeks later, when I tried to purchase US dollars, they told me none were available. Literally, no physical bills to purchase at any price. As my rent is to be paid in US Dollars, this was a little tricky. Oh, and the renovations on the front of the building? Those have been there since we arrived in 2007. And this is one of the best, most well funded and reliable banks in the country! I think you get picture.
