- I love the sauces here in Ukraine. Here are a few of my favorites that we use here: tarter (great on sandwiches or fish sticks), mushroom (good substitute for cream of mushroom soup), tatar (bbq like), and mexican. Amanda thinks this is a Canadian thing and stems from the tradition of using ketchup on macaroni and cheese, scrambled eggs and grilled cheese sandwiches. Apparently this trait is also hereditary since our girls insist on ketchup with their quesadillas.
