- There are a bunch of reasons to visit the Petrivka area. There is a HUGE book market with literally hundreds of kiosks filled with books and cd's and video games. There is also a household goods market that carries things such as lamps, mops, shelves, mirrors, rugs, other accessories. Mega Market is close by that carries Amanda's favorite cereal. City.com and Eldorada and Diawest (electronic and computer stores) are a block away. And it's only 2 metro stops from our house! On the far side of all the shopping is one of the commuter train stops. It's amazing how much trains are still used as a mode of common transportation. This is a typical Saturday where the train is pretty full of people various places.
I love Petrivka! Except when I realize how quick it is to drive there. And the time I took the girls by myself and it seriously took an hour to get to megamarket.
