- I arrived at the airport at 7:00am, since I had a 8:50am flight. This was taken at 9:20. I could add another photo for 11:00am, 12:30pm, and 2:00pm. We finally lifted off at 4:45pm. Fortunately, I had been to DI the day before and picked up a couple Grisham novels. During the space of my 7 hour wait in Seattle and the 5 hour flight, I was able to start and finish the Partner. I haven't spent the whole day reading since my teenage years and it was a lot of fun.
Apparently there were high winds in the Newark area and I didn't realize the severity of the issue until I turned on the TV in the hotel and saw the news broadcast of the plane that had left the Newark airport and crashed shortly before we landed. I felt grateful that we landed safely, even if it was 7 hours later than expected.
