- Kathryn was so excited it was his birthday today. I don't think she understood the difference between her birthdays and this one, but it was a nice excuse for a little party, at least. It's true what everyone says about how fast time goes after your first child. I remember so many "firsts" for Kathryn such as recognizing us, a smile, a laugh, etc. I remember these for Daniel, too, but it just seems like a blip in these 3 months. Whereas for Kathryn, those first 3 months just seemed so much longer.
