- When I was in elementary school, we made a Ukrainian pysanka (Easter egg) and I've always wanted to make another. Since here in Ukraine, I thought it would be fun to make them for Easter. The funny thing is, most Ukrainians have never made them before and apparently the tools (kistkas) and the paint and wax is difficult to find. While doing some souvenir shopping this week, we found a local artist who happened to have a couple in his car. So we got them. I spent the rest of the week trying to find dye and wax, but to no avail. No one knew where to find it. I will have to go back to the guy on souvenir street, I guess, since he said they could be found "anywhere."
