- It is always a Melanchuk tradition to make perogies for Christmas. I couldn't help but continue the tradition, especially since it reminded us so much of Kyiv. However, I'm sure to my family's chagrine, I found a better recipe for the dough while in Ukraine that has sour cream in it and is so light and delicious. Better than the "Melanchuk" perogies I've had for many years (I think). :)
